  Had lunch at Brian Lara Restaurant today. Food was good, service was good and the ambience also good. The music, however, was terrible and played at decibels unfortunate for the human ear. I will not go there again to face the music!...Read more

  What a breath of fresh air! we had dinner with our son at Brian Lara last night. I'd go back any day for the double on the menu. A really really tasty lentil and chickpea curry with naan and sambals. My husband had the beef burger and my son had the vegetarian burger. Sweetcorn fritters as a side was a fresh change from sweet potato chips. Staff were attentive, fun and engaging. One of the first places I've discovered in JHB that I'd love to return to.   Wow what a stunning and quirky place! Really love the cool decor and our waiter was fantastic. They're food was also reasonably priced, but I was kinda disappointed with the Jerk Chicken Burger I ordered. It was quite bland, and seemed like something I could have made myself at home. The Piña Colada comes in a pineapple which is really cool, but I think the small pineapple didn't hold enough of it (especially for R60). I do like the chips and pineapple salsa they give you for free as a starter. Overall a cool hangout spot, will have to give the food another try sometime....Read more
