  Once again my visit to Karibu was a great evening. I had the Surf and Turf winter special and its a great meal. Served with some great wine my evening was excellent!

  On a cold Cape Town evening Karibu offered warm and elegant setting to chase away the winter blues. Service was great. Courses served promptly and up to expectations. Prawn cocktail had large succulent prawns and was a good choice considering what was to come. A glass of Fat Bastard Chardonnay was the perfect accompaniment.
  
  I chose the Big Skewer for my main. 400gr of incredibly tender fillet with garlic butter, roasted vegetables and potato wedges. This with a glass of Porcupine Ridge Cabernet. Finally, a good version of the classic favorite, ice cream and chocolate sauce. No sauce out of a bottle. Home made chocolate cause in a small jug and another with caramel sauce.

  Karibu has a delightful menu with loads of delectable options making it difficult to choose. The duo of cheese starter was sesame seed crusted which made it interesting and the portion was large. The 400gm skewer of fillet was cooked on open coals and simply melted in the mouth. Absolutely superb. To finish off a decadent, light Amarula creme brûlée with caramelised strawberries on the top. The service was friendly and we were served all our courses very quickly. Definitely a lovely restaurant for locals and foreigners who fancy excellent South African cuisine. We'll be back again.
