The Cattle Baron Grill Room & Bar opened in October 2015 in the Mirage Building in the bustling suburb of De Waterkant, on the slopes of the Cape Town City Bowl. The Grill Room concept draws on the Cattle Baron’s 30 years of experience in offering perfected cuts of AAA-grade, wet-aged, grain-fed steaks as the focus of the dining offering.
As an inner-city restaurant, Cattle Baron provides a blend of all the elements that make for unforgettable dining experiences. A chic, upmarket ambience with oversized chandeliers and rich leather-backed olive green booths for big parties around solid light brown stained oak tables; informed, friendly service from the slick butcher-apron clad waiters; attentive management and owners, and a menu offering variety and specialty dishes, many of which were introduced for the first time in the Cattle Baron group as the Texas Manor Sirloin and the Meat Board to share.
With its convenient location between the City Bowl and the Atlantic Seaboard, The Grill Room & Bar has quickly found itself on the Cape Town restaurant map thanks to a revised décor scheme, unique wine and beverage list and a patio area with an urban vista overlooking the bustling Chiappini Street.
Accommodating up to groups of 50 (in the upstairs semi-private dining area), with audio visual capabilities and a projector screen, the Cattle Baron is perfect for functions, events and conferences and serves the four star Capital Hotel and it’s discerning clientele with aplomb both dining in the restaurant and exclusive room service during opening hours.
The custom-designed bar with broad vertical arches, smoked mirrors and gorgeous orb-shaped rose-gold drop lights gives the restaurant an elegant and refined feel. Diners are invited to share an aperitif or cocktail from the list of locally inspired libations, with ingredients from all around the Cape region represented.
The restaurant has a set of regular clientele that return for the consistently delivered dining experience and is becoming a go-to destination for steak aficionados. Families are most welcome as always is the case at all Cattle Barons, and the Sunday Lunch Buffet is a perfect way to satisfy everyone’s tastes at the end of a week.
This is the first restaurant partnership between Cattle Baron CEO and Founder, Ronnie Dick, and Cape Town born Jordan Biderman-Pam.
