O’Galito is a specialist Portuguese restaurant reminiscent of Lourenco Marques in the old days when readily available prawns, crab, langoustines, lobster and oysters were prepared in boundless platters. The first O’Galito was established in 1989 and since then has grown into a successful group winning many awards and accolades along the way. Although a seafood restaurant in essence, a full a la carte menu includes the traditional chicken peri peri, steaks, espetada, ostrich, rabbit, roast lamb and specialties such as oxtail. A double volume wine cooling room houses an impressive selection of wines (with vintages from 1986 onwards) as well as Portuguese wines and French Champagnes.
Whilst the décor is chic and sophisticated, with its embossed silver wallpaper, beautifully upholstered couches and marble staircase, the ambience throughout the day is definitely relaxed. A breakfast buffet is laid out for diners to help themselves, and there is ample outside seating (both downstairs and on the balcony) to enjoy a leisurely meal with family or friends. At night the tables are more formally dressed with white cloths and candle burners, to create a more elegant look and feel. With seating on two floors, a Royal sushi bar, marble-topped bar counter, and leather and hide seating, no expense has been spared in creating this impressive interior.
Over the years the name O’Galito has become synonymous with world class service having won the “best service” award many times. In addition set menus have been structured for larger groups to ensure that business lunches or company functions fall within your budget and time constraints. The upstairs seating area ensures private dining for companies and groups. However should you prefer dining in the comfort of your own boardroom, platters can be prepared on request. All we need is for you to order 24 hours in advance and we will deliver to your doorstep!
