Pear Tree re-opened its doors to the public in July 2015 following some major revamping. It now stands as a modern-styled bistro situated on the piazza in Hermanus. Pear Tree patrons will enjoy meals that reawaken the senses – the food is both appealing to look at and appetising in taste.

Customers who take a seat outside will be surrounded by views of the mountainside and ocean, a peaceful setting which encourages one to ebb life’s stresses away. Alternatively, the interior is small and intimate, plush cushions on the seat allows patrons to get comfortable and while the evening away.
The breakfast meal caters to all preferences, offering the usual classics with a twist to refreshing fruits salads and muesli mix. For a light morning meal, The ‘Creamy Scrambled Eggs’ will fill the spot. The dish is seasoned with chives and served on a toasted ciabatta.
If you’ve got a sizeable appetite and looking to try out the local cuisine, you can’t ever go wrong with a classic ‘Old Harbour Hake and Chips’. The fish is fresh-off-the-boat, battered in an ‘Old Harbour beer batter’ and served with a side of chunky chips. If you like nothing better than a mouth-watering burger, give the ‘Slider’ a try. This meal is a trio of mini lamb, beef and pork belly burgers served with a generous portion of fries. Water down your meals with a locally produced craft beer or a fruity cider.
