Rossi’s is Hermanus’s oldest operating Restaurant. It has been operational since 1985
and is centrally situated in a converted fisherman’s cottage. These were built in 1924 and are now protected as national monuments.
Rossi’s is a reasonably priced, family restaurant with a lively, friendly atmosphere, excellent food, great service and outstanding value.
Meals are prepared in full open view and cooked in traditional wood burning pizza ovens. These produce amazing thin based pizzas, pasta’s, and unique wood-oven baked line fish. Rossi’s steaks are also legendary amongst the locals.
Rossi’s most popular item is the “Rossi’s Pizza” This consists of bacon, onion, mushrooms, topped with fresh avocado.
The restaurant boasts a lovely outdoor area with the stunning Overberg mountains in the background. It is just perfect for that laid back lunch or chilled out evening and gives true meaning to dining al fresco.
In the cooler days the warm glow emanating from the two wood burning pizza ovens, gently warms the air inside adding to the already warm reception.
Rossi’s offers take-aways and is fully licenced. They offer a good selection of affordable wines, with the emphasis on the local region.
A visit to Hermanus is not complete without a visit to Rossi’s.
