Rusty Hook Fly & Artificial Lure Fishing Club situated on the premises was created to offer something different from the usual fly fishing venues which cater mainly for the weekend and part time angler. This venue for members has been designed to afford anglers the best possible fishing opportunities in an exclusive environment. Membership has been limited to 100 persons. Florida Bass is the predominant specie in the dam but there are also Largemouth Bass.
The original dam was drained, reshaped and sealed according to the advice of qualified dam engineers and stocking the dam followed the same procedures. Relevant fish experts and Bass specialists were consulted and ample fodder fish and structures introduced to ensure that the Bass would flourish.
Fly and art lure with barbless hooks are the only methods of fishing allowed, while a catch and release policy is enforced. No waders are allowed. There is also a kiddie’s dam which is well stocked with Blue Kurper and small bass.
