Tony’s Spaghetti Grill, established in 2001, is one of the most popular venues in Johannesburg. A South African restaurant with strong Italian influences, this venue is a great place for socialising and having fun whilst dining. Packed since its opening, this modern spacious, double volume and airy restaurant, with wide terraces on two sides, serves delicious “al fresco” style meals, with an interesting Italian themed menu ranging through antipasti, salads, pizza, pasta, meat and seafood dishes.
Owner and Chef Tony, who has been in the restaurant industry for over 25 years, feels that Italian cuisine offers the broadest spectrum for innovation, and the delicious dishes on offer from the open kitchen, with two large wood-fired pizza ovens on display, are proof of this. Featuring dishes such as Petti di Pollo alla Proscuitto with chicken breasts and prosciutto, mozzarella cheese and fresh sage, sautéed lightly in a white wine and sage butter sauce, thereafter oven baked in the wood-fired pizza ovens, and finally served with linguine and seasonal vegetables.
