Although not Italian by blood, the Italian family and community values are what we hold very dear in everything we do.

As a couple we met whilst working on the cruise ships as Food and Beverage manager and waitress. We were married 6 weeks after first meeting and today, 19 years later, our marriage is stronger than ever and we are blessed with 2 sons that work together with us in the Trattoria. Through perseverance and hard work, the Trattoria has become an award-winning restaurant and was voted into the top 100 restaurants in South Africa by the South African Restaurant Association. We are now a finalist Finalist in The Top 100 South African Restaurants in the RASSA Rosetta awards, an outstanding achievement that we are very proud of.

Gavin's Trattoria offers a mix of cuisine originating from our favourite spots around the world, warm and genuine hospitality and a team that strives to deliver old-fashioned good service that will soon make you feel as if you are part of the family!
