Ilse Secchi and Marietjie Gevers opened the doors of Piccola Italia in 2007. Both are well qualified, and have extensive experience, in the Hospitality Industry, Ilse as restaurant owner and Marietjie in tertiary education in the Hospitality Industry.

Ilse and Marietjie set out to create a friendly neighbourhood restaurant that serves authentic Italian fare at affordable prices. Their combined experience has resulted in the success story Piccola Italia has become. According to numerous customers they serve the best pizza in Pretoria and are regarded as one of the top five Italian Restaurants in the city. Specials on offer complement the menu on a regular basis. A limited, fixed price, lunch time menu is also available.
Most ingredients are imported Italian products and the very popular house wines also originate from Italy. Fresh produce is sourced on a daily basis. Piccola’s daily speciality favourites are still the Osso Buco; prepared with tomato, white wine, mushrooms and herbs, and Lamb Puttanesca richly flavoured with anchovies, olives and capers.

Piccola’s signature pasta is the delicious Spaghetti Aglio Olio with prawns, Rosa tomatoes, rocket and nuts. For an exotic spicy experience you may try the Malay Pollo or Lamb Spezzatino. The Pollo Involtini and variety Veal dishes are light with delicate flavours and fine textures. If you enjoy Tripe, Rabbit or (when available) Steak Tatare, Piccola Italia is the place for you.
In summer the atmosphere is that of a typical European street café with tables seated outside on the sidewalk. In wintertime the wood-burning pizza oven together with the enlarged scenes of Italy creates the warm ambience of a typical Italian setting.

Piccola Italia is suitable for special occasions for up to 40 people. All menu items are available to take away in any quantity. Piccola Italia borders on Waterkloof Ridge in the Monument Park shopping centre at 73 Skilpad Street, Monument Park, Pretoria.
