The Milk Shed Bar opened on the 9th of July and The Cow and Milk Restaurant on 29 July, respectively and both have proved to be quite a success. The restaurant is located in Nahoon, East London and can get busy over weekends so book ahead to avoid any disappointment.
Hugo's vision is to deliver food that is honest, prepared with care and passion; for their service to be impeccable and for a dining experience that is remembered long after their patrons have left them. The décor at The Cow and Milk Shed is best described as understated elegance, the green and brass colour palette provides an upmarket yet unpretentious feel. They want their diners to feel like they are somewhere special the minute they walk in the door then feel comfortable enough to relax and relish in their dining experience.
The owner try and source their produce from local establishments, as much as possible, as they love to support the local community. All the fresh produce comes from a local farm in East London on a daily basis. The cuts are butchered by Adam, who prides himself in choosing and preparing them himself. He is personally involved in every meal that goes out. Some of their speciality meals include: Beef Carpaccio with Rocket, Balsamic Reduction and local Parmesan-style Cheese, the 600g Aged Ribeye Steak with your choice of side dishes such mustard mash potatoes, chunky hand cut chips or a garden salad and their famous oven roasted Lamb Shanks in red wine are a very popular choice amongst diners. For something sweet, try their salted caramel mousse topped with fresh blueberries, and their carefully and thoughtfully selected wine list compliments the dishes on offer, with a cellar select wine list for the more distinguishing palate.
